NWTRCC Statement of Purpose

The National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee (NWTRCC) is a coalition of groups from across the U.S., formed in 1982 to provide information and support to people involved in or considering some form of war tax resistance (WTR). Affiliate organizations and individual supporters are joined together in a common struggle for a more just and peaceful society. We oppose militarism and war and refuse to complicity participate in the tax system, which supports such violence. NWTRCC sees poverty, racism, sexism, homophobia, economic exploitation, environmental destruction and militarization of law enforcement as integrally linked with the militarism which we abhor. Through the redirection of our tax dollars NWTRCC members contribute directly to the struggle for peace and justice for all. NWTRCC promotes war tax resistance within the context of a broad range of nonviolent strategies for social change, and is firmly embedded in the peace movement.

If Congress would repeal the 16th Amendment, that would fix the problem. (The 16th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, proposed July 12, 1909, ratified in 1913, gives congress the power to lay and collect taxes on incomes.) Do you think that they would be for that?

NWTRCC's goal is to maintain and build a national movement of conscientious objectors to military taxes by supporting, coordinating and publicizing the WTR actions of groups and individuals. These actions include: war tax resistance, protest, and refusal; the redirection of military taxes to meet human needs; support of the U.S. Peace Tax Fund Bill; and adjustment of lifestyle to avoid tax liability. WTR actions are undertaken in accordance with each individual's moral, religious or political conscience, and are hoped to contribute toward changing the priorities and policies of the U.S. government.

These same people want to increase taxes on the "rich". They do not want to pay taxes themselves, but they want the rich to pay taxes. It would seem as though they want tax cuts for all Americans.

Look at some of the letters from War Tax Resisters to the IRS.

These letters pretty much show the result of a government that has gotten too large and bureaucratic. Of course, these letters are from people that wish more and higher taxes on others, but they do not like being taxed themselves.

Explanation of why I don't agree with the "Notice of Levy/Seizure"

Each year I withhold part of my taxes (and send the money to a group that serves the poor) so that I am not paying for weapons of mass destruction. I believe that my right of conscience in this matter supersedes any tax claim of my government.

I believe that it would be morally wrong and destructive of our fragile planet (the entire ecosystem, including people) to use nuclear weapons, biological weapons or any other weapons of mass destruction. Therefore, it follows that if these weapons must not be used, then it is extremely dangerous and wrong to build and maintain them. For these reasons I cannot, according to my conscience, pay taxes for these weapons.

Building and maintaining weapons of mass destruction also threatens a constitutional goal, as stated in the Preamble to the United States Constitution, "We the people of the United States, in order...to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity." Either as the result of an accident or by intent, the United States is now capable of destroying the earth (and liberty) for ourselves and our posterity. This is wrong and I can not pay for it.

Veronica M. Fellerath

It would be nice to choose where my tax dollars could go. It would be nice to choose what departments of the government are worthy of my hard earned money. But it doesn't work that way. Ms. Fellerath has a point and that point is that the larger government becomes, the less efficient it becomes and thereby the more waste. This is the reason we have elections and why it is important that irresponsible people with Left-Wing agendas are not elected.

To Whom It May Concern:

In light of the massive corruption, fraud and misappropriation of working people's tax money and the use of said money to commit murder and mayhem worldwide I find I must object the misuse of such funds by refusing to pay them. As a conscientious objector to the war in Iraq and the foreign policy that has caused so much death and suffering worldwide I cannot in good conscious financially support the corrupt government practices that have caused the deaths of so many innocent people; for me to do so would make me a party to murder which my personal and spiritual beliefs prohibit.

Instead of being represented by the government, taxpayers are being defrauded and robbed of their hard-earned money which then is used to harm people worldwide. The abuse of taxpayers is so blatant now that little attempt is made to disguise it and only the most naive, stubborn, or those that profit from this massive corruption will defend it.

With huge tax breaks for the super-rich and large corporations paying no taxes at all, the message is clear to working people; give us your money and shut up, it's all you're good for.

In a time when elections are rigged by wrongly denying the right to vote to citizens who had the legal right to do so and by voting machines that are programmed to alter the outcome of the vote, thereby thwarting the will and intent of voters; citizens are unable to choose candidates to represent them and are as a result misrepresented and defrauded by officials gaining access to power by illegal means.

When elections are rigged we are not being represented. The only interest that the government has in us is the money it wants to misappropriate from us. These profoundly corrupt government officials will not abide by our wishes, will not look out for our interests, or the interests of the poor and middle class worldwide, and as a result there is no other meaningful way to protest such massive corruption than not to support it. I will donate the money to legitimate, worthy charities.

Sincerely,

Mary Gibeault

This person has no idea of what the Constitution really says. One of the responsibilities that Constitution charges the Federal Government with is the protection of the citizens of this country. And that is done with a strong military. The Constitution does not say that the Federal Government is responsible for the many programs that have no real value other than the redistribution of wealth thereby "enslaving" groups of people and make them totally dependent on others for their subsistence without their having to work, i.e. welfare and other government give away programs.

CAROL MOORE
Washington, DC

July 10, 2000

Charles O. Rosetti
Commissioner, Internal Revenue Service
Washington, DC

Mr. Rosetti,

My name is Carol L. Moore.

I am present at the Internal Revenue Service building in Washington, D.C., today, to turn myself in for refusing to pay federal income taxes for war and violence, as I have refused since 1976, the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

As a pacifist and feminist I have, for 24 years refused to pay taxes to the U.S. General Fund because approximately ½ of such monies pay for past, present, and future war. Nuclear war is inevitable as long as males (and enabling females) are willing to kill for male pride and manhood, which is all it boils down to in the end.

My conscience will not allow me to pay for violence and war by the state. I would rather go to prison and subject myself to state violence than pay for war.

Take me away. I won't pay.

Sincerely,

Carol Moore

This is the quintessential Liberal attitude. It is hard to believe that this person is not on Senator Barbara Boxer's staff. This person has no idea that the military is here to protect the citizens of the United States. If she does not wish for this country's military to protect her, there are many countries where she could live. She could get an American VISA to just about any country she desires anytime she wishes.

Miss Moore could relocate to Iran anytime she wants. She might like it there. The Iranian people probably share similar views about the U.S. military. They could discuss American Imperialism all day. Being a defiant and outspoken Feminist, they would probably value her opinion on world affairs and politics. Islam has enjoyed a long history of acceptance and support of "Liberated Women" and embracing modern Feminist ideals and principles.

Or she could to go Saudi Arabia, Sudan, or China. Certainly, these countries would extend to her the freedom, civil rights, and the high standard of living that she seeks as opposed to the sheer oppression and total denial of freedom that she has been forced to tolerate in the United States of America.

She might try France. They have high taxes, which she does not seem to like, but most of the taxes go to pay for social programs, which she does seem to like. These Social programs allow those that do not want to work very hard, a chance to be well compensated for doing relatively little work, thereby being a drag on society.

With a minimum amount of effort and a little creative thinking, Miss Moore could probably get financially compensated for surrendering and renouncing her citizenship. The highly acclaimed talk show host Sean Hannity had suggested a similar offer in the spring of 2005. You would have to contact the Sean Hannity Show for any eligibility requirements and restrictions.

Disclaimer:
The Sean Hannity Show has no affiliation with TargetOfOpportunity.com or any other website mentioned on the www.targetofopportunity.com website.

On a slightly more personal note, Miss Moore displays the typical self-loathing attitude associated with the Liberal Feminists extreme contempt and hatred for men. This is very common because the Liberal mentality is "Emotionally" based rather than "Intellectually" based. This woman has no idea how much power she could command over men, but because of her self-imposed Feminist attitude and like-minded friends, she is completely ignorant on how to communicate and relate to men. She is only able to display hostility. And it is this "hostility" that is inherent to the Feminist ideal that makes women weak, unhappy, and unable to have truly fulfilling relationships with men. Perhaps this is why Feminists always appear to be in a bad mood or suffering from extremely severe PMS.

And there you have it. These people would have you believe that they are the ones that make the sacrifice to keep this country free and safe. They will march up and down and tear down everything that America symbolizes. And through these protests, they knowingly give aid and comfort to our enemies. Carol Moore another perfect example of absolute Liberalism in all its glory.
